The release date for the C4 Experiment is on schedule for the 15th of June 2010.  Want to know more about your producer?  We’ve put together a quick reel which encompasses some of his work in advertising and production competitions. The reel was made in 2009 so it doesn’t include so of the latest projects to come out but it should give you an idea of what we’re all about: The music.

Stay tuned as we will be announcing the final list of artists that made it to the experiment. A big thank you goes out to all the talented artists that have taken part in this project and ultimately, forced us to get better at what we do!

I’m really excited about this new project which has been on the move for quite some time now. The animation is finally completed and you can now view the spot! Rumor has it that the spot will be in contention at this year’s International Advertising Festival in Cannes. The spot airs in Europe and is part of Scrabble’s new campaign by one of the world’s best advertising agencies: Ogilvy Paris

Here’s how the project worked.

The creative team gave me 30 words and asked me to make a song that would work with animation. The words were so random, it was really a challenge to write them in a way that would make sense.I decided to make a character by faking a british accent and talk about a dream the man had about a Hula dancer. For those who don’t know, I am not British at all so this was a bit of a stretch but it worked out in the end!

C4 in Taco Bell Money in my pocketz ( Didier Tovel)

Hello internets.

I got a new project out now for the great people at Taco Bell. The spot is called “Money in my pocket” and is now on the air. There is a 30 and 15 sec version out now on just about every Canadian network. Help your boy out and take some money saving tips from us. Buy tacos. Lots of them.

The beat and song was produced and performed by C4. Many auditions were done with many established rappers such as Jd Era, Maestro Fresh Wes, 9th Uno, Mic Boogie but the advertiser chose to go with vocals which were over the top !

Yes this video does make fun of rappers. As a producer, I am sick of tired of making songs about money. But, just in case you wanted to know the recipe, here it is:

1 rapper with bling

1 chorus with auotune

1 beat with deep bass and dirty south claps

1 hypeman ( preferably intimidating)

1 High definition camera

1 Sign which lights up with rapper’s name

1 Stack of money which you’ll have to give back to the producers when you are done.
